Gainesville city will have new billing program
The city of Gainesville recently announced that it will be switching to a new billing company in November. The city’s current billing system will become obsolete at the end of this year, and the council has chosen to replace the system with Muni-Link to best fit Gainesville residents’ needs. Benefits of the new system will include:
• E-Billing in an easier format.
• Customer portal that is easy to navigate and utilize. Residents can access bills, payments and usages at any time.
• Online payments that are easier for the customer to navigate.
• Customer notification through text and email for upcoming events and emergency water notifications.
• Automatic withdrawal will be available on credit cards and echeck capabilities (fees do apply).
• Free ACH withdrawal through the office with a local bank.
• Credit card and tap payment options (fees do apply; $3 per $200 transaction limit).
The new system includes many of the same benefits the city has now but with easier accessibility for residents. Residents will still be able to make payments at the office with cash, check or card and still be able to use our drop box for after-hours convenience.
The city reminds residents that they can download the EyeOnWater app to track water usage and sign up for leak or high usage notifications. A city employee checks it during office hours and notifies customers when available. They also remind residents to make sure the city has an up-to-date phone number and email address for customer notification of major events and any water concerns in the area.
E-Billing is always available to receive your statements faster and more environmentally friendly, they say.
