Scholarship winner

Alyssa Dillon of Tecumseh, a sophomore Associate of Science in business major at Missouri State University-West Plains, is one of 29 college students in the Missouri – and the only student from a two-year school – who has been awarded a $1,250 scholarship from the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. Hundreds of students competed for the scholarship, according to an announcement from MSU-WP. Winners were chosen based on an essay, grade point average and professor recommendation. Dillon expects to graduate from MSU-WP this summer and will transfer to the University of Missouri-Columbia to pursue bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting.
