Masons Robby Acklin, right, and Bobby Grisham, represent a check to officers of the Youth Empowerment Program at Gainesville School: from left, Wesley Zacher, Abby Milligan, Ashley Poe, Brexton Miller and YEP co-sponsor Laurie Poe (not shown YEP officer Acacia Hutchings and co-sponsor Michelle Pointer). With this gift, the Masons have given a total of $806 this year to Gainesville’s YEP backpack program, which provides supplemental weekend food for students in need.

Acklin and Grisham, left, presented a check to Dora School’s snack pack program coordinators and middle school teachers Crystal Leroy and Ginny Robinson, center. Also pictured: school counselor Amelia Menz and superintendent Steve Richards. The gift brings the Masons’ total support for the Dora program to $810. Students and faculty members at both schools expressed gratitude for the gifts.
Representatives of Robert Burns Masonic Lodge #496 in Gainesville visited the Dora and Gainesville schools Monday to present checks for the schools’ benevolence programs. The funds came from the Masonic Home of Missouri’s Creating-a-Partnership program, which matches funds from local Masonic lodges for certain benevolent initiatives related to the well-being of children. In this case, the local funds came from donations to the lodge in memory of the late Cecil Loftis, who died Dec. 13, 2017.
