Organizers say this year’s live music lineup is shaping up beautifully for the third annual Party on the Hill fundraising event, set for Saturday, Sept. 24, in Theodosia. The annual event raises money each year for the Semper Fi & America’s Fund, an organization that benefits the nation’s critically wounded, ill and injured service members, veterans and military families.

“These warriors receive help for a lifetime,” said event organizer Debbie Daniel.

A new Motown-band, Fresh Rain from St. Louis, was added to the live music lineup recently. Other bands to take the stage include Alex Epley, the rock musicians Hollow Threat Band, Texas red-dirt country music by Craig Cook & the Marauders and country music by Rick Cook.

More golfers are needed for a new event that kicks off the party this year, a 9-hole golf scramble at Lost Woods Golf Course in Theodosia. It begins at 10 a.m. that morning. The cost to enter is $50 per person, and golfers receive green fees, several payouts, four specialty prize holes and lunch and awards. Carts are $25. Call Lost Woods at 417-273-4877 to reserve one.

The fun continues at Daniel’s property, located at 79 Ashlynn Acres Lane in Theodosia, with a silent auction beginning at 4 p.m. Happy hour also begins at 4 p.m. A live auction kicks off at 6 p.m. Live music will follow.

The event features a free dinner with Andi’s Snack Shack and Terry’s Famous Burgers, along with ice cream and snow cones, soft drinks and adult drinks.

The event is child friendly, and there will be plenty of yard games and other fun to keep the whole family entertained.

A canned goods drive is being held in coordination with the event, and guests are asked to bring two canned goods, which will be donated to the local food pantries.

General admission is complementary. All VIP tables have been sold.
