Dora boys and girls cross country teams qualify for state

All-District Isabelle Martin, junior, qualified for state when she placed 7th with a time of 23:19

All-District Haley Perkins, junior, earned a district medal and qualified for state when she placed 17th.

All-District Kara Anderson, junior, earned a district medal and qualified for state when she placed 27th.

All-District Kinley Luna, junior, earned a district medal and qualified for state when she placed 29th.

All-District Daniel Tomlinson, junior, qualified for state when he placed 2nd with a time of 17:30.34

All-District Jacob Perkins, freshman, qualified for state when he placed 16th with a time of 18:50.75

All-District Zachary Green, sophomore, qualified for state when he placed 27th with a time of 19:36.
The Dora High School boys and girls cross country teams are state bound after both squads earned third-place finishes at the Class 1 District 2 meet held in Hermitage on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The strong performances secured full-team qualifications for both the Lady Falcons and the Falcons, who will compete at the MSHSAA Class 1 State Championships this Saturday at Gans Creek Recreational Area in Columbia. The boys race begins at 9 a.m., and the girls run at 9:45.
Coach Sheree Nold praised her runners for their dedication and team spirit.
“As a coach I must say we have so much to be thankful for as a school and a community,” Nold said. “Each student on the Dora cross country team gave their full dedication to running the District race, just as they should.”
The Dora community will send the teams off in style with a celebration at 8:30 a.m. Friday morning before they depart for Columbia. Fans can follow live results on race day through the Prime Time Timing website: pttiming.com/schedule.php.
The Lady Falcons had several standout performances, with four runners earning All-District honors: Isabelle Martin, 7th place, 22:01.03; Haley Perkins, 17th place, 23:19.6; Kinley Luna, 29th place, 24:01; and Kara Anderson, 27th place, 23:59.56. Alexia Anderson and Brynlee Walker ran strong races and both set new personal records.
The boys team matched the girls’ effort with an impressive third-place team showing, led by top finisher Daniel Tomlinson, 2nd place, 17:30.34. Also named All-District and heading to state as individuals are Jacob Perkins, 16th place, 18:50.75; and Zachary Green, 27th place, 19:36.56.
Josiah Ward set a new season record, while Hunter Dobbs, CJ Brashers and Logan Smith set new all-time personal records.
With both teams heading to state, excitement is high across Dora’s campus and community. The Falcons and Lady Falcons will look to carry their momentum into Columbia this weekend and make their mark among Missouri’s best.
