Dozens of yard sales planned for Saturday’s county-wide event
File photo This photo was taken on the square at the Gainesville city-wide yard sale last year. The sale was so successful that the Ozark County Chamber of Commerce opened the sale up to all of Ozark County this year. There are about two dozen participating yard sales participating.
Grab your pocketbook and sharpen up your bargaining skills because the first annual Ozark County-wide yard sale is being held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 5.
The event is sponsored by the Ozark County Chamber of Commerce, a group that held a Gainesville city-wide yard sale last year with success and decided to open it up to all Ozark County residences this year.
Those who chose to participate in the organized effort could pay $10 to have their address listed on the county-wide yard sale map or $5 to setup on the Gainesville square. The strip mall on Highway 160 in Theodosia also is allowing residents to bring their stuff there to host a yard sale in their parking lot and sidewalks.
