Dugginsville-area house a total loss in fire, now homeowners are searching for two missing dogs

These two dogs have gone missing after a fire broke out at a residence on P13 off County Road 650 in Dugginsville.

This home was a total loss despite the efforts of four volunteer fire departments working to battle a blaze that broke out last Saturday night. No one was home at the time, and there were no injuries.

It was around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, when a passerby called Ozark County’s 911 dispatch office to report what appeared to be a structure fire at or near a home on County Road 650 in the Dugginsville area, off P13.

The Theodosia Area Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene, with mutual aid from Gainesville, Pontiac and Timber Knob VFDs.

“Upon TAVFD arrival, the home was fully involved with fire [in the] extension to the northeast. The family was away at the time, and no injuries were reported,” a post on the fire department’s Facebook page states.

The Ozark County Sheriff’s Department, Ozark County Ambulance and White River Valley Electric company responded to help at the scene.

The home was a total loss, and the family’s two dogs went missing at the scene. If you’ve seen either of the dogs at right, call the Gainesville Veterinary Hospital at 417-679-4328.
