Gainesville home catches fire

The front porch and attic at this home on Harlin Drive in Gainesville caught fire last week, officials say.
The home of Erica McCullough, located on Harlin Drive in Gainesville, sustained some damage after a fire broke out at the front of the structure last Thursday, July 24.
According to this week’s Ozark County Sheriff’s Department dispatch log, at least two neighbors called in the fire, with the first call reported at 9:24 p.m. that night.
Gainesville, Lick Creek, Bakersfield and Tecumseh VFDs responded.
The fire marshal’s office was called to investigate at the request of someone on scene due to the fire presumably starting on the front porch and attic and a conversation with the occupants a few days before, the dispatch report says.
Mike O’Connell with the Missouri Department of Public Safety told the Times that the fire marshal’s office had not determined the cause as of Tuesday, but the investigator has listed the fire as accidental in nature.
