Happy Thanksgiving

Gainesville kindergarten teacher Hailey Hand and her daughter Adele, a student at GES, were dressed in their pilgrim’s best last week to celebrate the kindergarten’s annual Thanksgiving feast. Other students dressed as Native Americans.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers. The staff here at the Ozark County Times is thankful for each and every person reading this edition, along with all of the community members who submit news and photos each week that allow this publication to continue to record the history of Ozark County each week.

The Times office will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23-24, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Staff members have delivered copies of today’s edition to the post offices, area stores and other vendor locations on Wednesday, as usual, but mail subscribers will likely receive their newspapers a day later than normal due to the post office’s closure on Thanksgiving Day.

News and advertising deadlines for the Nov. 30 edition of the Times will be 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28. To report news during the holiday, contact Jessi Dreckman at jessi@ozarkcountytimes.com or call the office at 417-679-4641 and leave a message. All calls will be returned on Monday morning.

A black drop box is located outside the front door of the Times office on the south side of the Gainesville square. Payments can be left inside.

Most businesses and offices will be closed on Thursday. Many offices will also be closed Friday.

Area banks are slated for Thursday closure, while the Ozark County Courthouse, Gainesville City Hall, Theodosia Village Hall, The Center and Gainesville License Office among others will be closed both Thursday and Friday

If traveling into town on those days for business purposes, it is recommended to call beforehand to ensure the business is open.
