New ‘Feeding Frenzy’ food truck opens at Lake Bums Brew Co

The newest food establishment in Pontiac, the Feeding Frenzy, fits in well with the lake-loving community.
Built on a pontoon boat and trailer, the food truck is located at Lake Bums Brew Co, 112 Parrothead Lane in Pontiac, and is currently serving up an ever-changing summertime menu. Hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturdays, the same time the brewery is open with live music that day.
The Saturday menu features fresh burgers each week, along with different specialty dinners and desserts. Recent meal specials have included Thai chicken bowls with egg rolls, BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, street tacos, loaded fries, coconut cake, brownie sundaes and strawberry shortcakes.
Guests who are arriving by water can pull into the nearby Pontaic Cove Marina and call the brewery at 417-679-0070 to ask for a ride from the business’s shuttle bus, the “Brewber.”
The Pontiac-Price Place Volunteer Fire Department takes the helm of the Feeding Frenzy from 9 to 11 a.m. Sundays, cooking and serving breakfast as a fundraiser for the fire department. Last Sunday’s menu featured a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, biscuits and gravy, loaded hash browns and cinnamon rolls. The brewery is also open during those Sunday hours serving its “Sunday Session” drink menu of bloody marys, other morning cocktails and a variety of non-alcoholic drink options.
The menus for both the Saturday dinners and Sunday breakfasts are posted to the Lake Bums Brew Co Facebook and Instagram pages.
On Saturday, guests can pay with cash or credit/debit card, but during the Sunday fundraising breakfast the PPPVFD requests guests pay with cash only for the food. Drinks on Sunday can be paid for with a debit or credit card at the brewery.
