Pontiac fireworks show is Saturday, Sept. 3

The annual “Light up the Lake” fireworks display at Pontiac Cove will begin at dark Saturday, Sept. 3, over Bull Shoals Lake in Pontiac. If the weather is rainy or stormy, the event will be held the next night, Sunday, Sept. 4.

The longtime Fourth of July show transitioned to a Labor Day weekend event in 2020, and the feedback was so good that organizers decided to stick with the revised date.

Just Jackie’s restaurant, located at Pontiac Cove, will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and there will also be these food vendors on site: Roberts Company Shaved Ice-SnoBiz and Heavenly Ground Roasted Coffee & Fried Pies.

The Saints of Valor and Kingdom Daughters ministries, faith-based groups for children and teens, will be at the event serving up burgers and brats and offering face painting.

The fireworks will be viewable from boats or shoreline at Pontiac Cove.
