Theodosia clinic now has covid shots available, next vaccine clinic at OCHD will be held June 3

Covid-19 vaccinations are now available at the Theodosia Family Medical Clinic at 4900 Highway 160 in Theodosia. Physician Masa Kinoshita told the Times the clinic is vaccinating patients with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which requires only one dose.

If a patient has insurance, there will be no out-of-pocket cost for the patient as long as he or she is only at the clinic for the covid vaccination, Kinoshita said. If a patient does not have any type of insurance, the clinic is offering a discounted “mini-visit” for $35. There will be no additional charge for the vaccination as long as it is the only thing needed at the appointment, he said.

For more information, contact the Theodosia clinic at 417-273-2300.

The other two medical clinics in Ozark County, the Gainesville Medical Center and the Missouri Ozarks Community Health clinic, both in Gainesville, told the Times Monday they are not yet offering covid vaccinations here. The MOCH clinic in Ava offers the shots one day a week at no charge, according to MOCH chief operating officer Jennifer Heinlein. To schedule an appointment at the Ava clinic, call 417-683-5739.

On Thursday, June 3, the Ozark County Health Department will give first doses of the Pfizer covid-19 vaccine during a vaccination clinic to be held from 8 a.m. until noon at the OCHD office on Third Street in Gainesville. A second dose of the vaccine, required about three weeks later, will be scheduled at the time of the first shot, said OCHD administrator Rhonda Suter. The covid vaccinations at OCHD are free. Call OCHD 417-679-3334 to schedule an appointment for the June 3 clinic.
