Theodosia Village passes 'use tax' with 22 votes

The Village of Theodosia's "use tax," was voted in during the Aug. 6 Primary Election. There were 22 ballots voting yes on the use tax, while 14 ballots were cast in opposition.

The passage means that items purchased online or in catalogs by residents within Theodosia city limits will be subject to the same city sales tax rate as brick-and-mortar stores within the city limits of Theodosia, and the Village of Theodosia will retain that revenue. Currently, that tax rate is 1.5 percent.
