Gainesville Elementary has new awning and new roof installed

Rob Collins of Chaney Monument/D&D Signs installs lettering on a new awning at Gainesville Elementary School Monday. Gainesville Superintendent Justin Gilmore said the new awning has been needed for a long time. “It’s been in the works for quite a while,” Gilmore said. “We are very glad to get this project completed and try to help keep our kids out of the elements.” A new roof on the building is also nearly completed. Gilmore said the new roof at the elementary school will complete a campus-wide roofing project in which the roofs on all main school buildings on the campus have been replaced. The project has taken two years  and cost more than $1 million. All the roofs have 15-20 year warranties, the superintendent said.
