A celebration of life ceremony for Archie W. “Trey” Scott III, 73, was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, at The Center in Gainesville.
He died Sept. 28, at his home with his wife, Merle, by his side after battling cancer. He was born July 1, 1951, in Austin, Texas.
After retiring, he and Merle moved to Gainesville. He called his little farm “heaven on earth.” He loved hunting, fishing and raising a garden. He shared the splendors of that hobby with friends and family by cooking for them.
He is survived by his wife Merle; a sister; two brothers; seven children; and 15 grandchildren.
