Betty Louise Roberson, 93

Betty Louise Roberson, 93, most recently of Theodosia, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the Passion and Purpose Homecare Assisted Living for Our Seniors in Murray, Kentucky. There will be no public service or visitation held at this time.

Betty was born on Sept. 23, 1930, in Dietrich, Illinois, to the late George Henry Koop and Rose Cathorine Deters Koop. She grew up in a tight-knit Illinois farming community raised in the Catholic faith.

The love of her life was her husband Curly and her five children, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Curly and Betty lived in Findlay, Ohio, for 20-plus years.

In her family, hugs were plentiful, love was given freely and the door was always open. She was an amazing cook, even creating a cookbook of favorite recipes for her children. When someone sat at her table, they never went hungry. Her rules included never wearing a hat at the table, being on time for meals and saying grace before eating. Dessert was always available - everything from her homemade cookies, pies and cakes to her favorite drumstick ice cream treat. Raised in the depression, she learned early how to stretch a budget through everything from canning to making homemade breads and pastas. Holidays, especially birthdays, included favorite foods, stories and handmade crocheted afghans, quilts and needlework.

In her spare time, she went across the country in an Airstream RV, played cards on the computer, solved word puzzles and watched her favorite TV shows. And she was a mean dominoes player.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer “Curly” Allen Roberson, who was the love of her life for 75 years; her children: Cathy Lynn Roberson Clark and husband Michael of Murray, Kentucky, Marc Allen Roberson and wife Denise of Powell, Wyoming, Dana Louise Roberson Guerra of Ozark, Bruce Michael Roberson of Midwest, Wyoming, and Lori Suzanne Roberson of Springfield.
