Bruce Wright, 77
Funeral services for Bruce Wright, 77, of Gainesville, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at True Hope General Baptist Church in Theodosia.
Bruce, beloved father, uncle, brother and friend, died Sept. 17, and his family imagines that he is likely still explaining some of his jokes to St. Peter now that he is no longer "dog tired."
Bruce was born in Aug. 30 1946, in Gainesville to Fred and Bonnie Wright. He was the second youngest of the Wright clan.
He lived most of his life in Ozark County and attended Gainesville High School. He was a dairy farmer for many years but felt a calling to do home health after taking care of his mother when she had cancer.
He raised his daughter Scarlet in the family home in Hammond and regularly took local kids to church in Ava so that seeds were planted in their hearts from an early age.
He is survived by his daughter Scarlet and her son Marshall; his stepchildren, Maverick, Helen and Rocco; best friends and partners-in-life Teresa and her husband Joe; older sister Beverly Jo; younger brother Roger; and countless nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by siblings Freddy, Ralph, John Wesley, Bonnie and Janis, who welcomed him in heaven with open arms.
In lieu of arrangements, the family asks guests to send live plants or make a donation in Bruce’s name to the charity/church of your choice – or to take someone to church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
