Carol Hunter, 56

Carol Hunter, 56, of Gainesville, died Jan. 9, 2022, at her home she shared with Brian Prock.

A celebration of her life is planned for a later date.

Carol was born May 17, 1965, the daughter of Orval and Leota Hargrave. She grew up in El Dorado Springs.

After graduation from El Dorado Springs High School, she went on to get her master’s degree in education from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. She was a teacher for many years in Theodosia. She retired last year after working for many years at the Ozark County Courthouse in Gainesville.

Carol knew no enemies and had a love for everyone. She made time to sit, listen and talk to everyone until all hours of the day and night. She was loved by all who knew her, and we will all miss her smile, laugh and the hugs she always had time to give to everyone.

She enjoyed travel and loved to go on vacations with Brian after her retirement. One of her favorite places was Bunker Hill Resort on the Jacks Fork River.

Carol leaves behind Brian Prock of the home; two daughters, Amber Shrewsbury and husband Roy, and Maggie Miller; two sons, Dalton Prock and Wyatt Prock, all of Gainesville; three grandchildren Maycen, Lillie and Daniel; one brother, Bruce Hargrave and wife Cheryl of Granite Falls, Washington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Larry Hunter; mother Leota Hargrave; father Orval Hargrave; and brother Brian Hargrave.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
