Charles Marion Hunt, 86

Charles “Chuck” Marion Hunt, 86, died peacefully on Oct. 12, 2025. Born on June 17, 1939, in Valley Park, Chuck was the beloved son of Ray and Fannie Hunt. Services are pending.
He spent his early childhood in Valley Park alongside his three brothers—Don, Norman and Carl “Wig”—before the family relocated to Dawt in 1945. There, he attended a one-room schoolhouse and later graduated from Gainesville High School. Chuck pursued higher education at the Missouri School of Mines (now Missouri University of Science and Technology), where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering.
In 1960, he married the love of his life, Anne Holloran, in Gainesville. During the early years of their marriage, both Chuck and Anne worked tirelessly to support his academic journey. Upon graduation, he began a distinguished career with Western Contracting Company. His first assignment took them to Salt Lake City, Utah, where their twins, Marshall and Michelle, were born.
Chuck’s career as a civil engineer spanned several decades and took the family to locations across the United States and even overseas to Taipei, Taiwan. His work was a testament to his dedication, intelligence and unwavering commitment to excellence.
In 2005, Chuck and Anne retired to Pottsboro, Texas, where he spent his days enjoying his favorite pastime—fishing.
Chuck will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful and accomplished man whose gentle nature and quiet wisdom enriched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Anne; his children: Michelle Langley (James Henderson) and Marshall Hunt (Stacie); granddaughter Kristina Saulino (Peter); grandson Nicholas Hunt; and great-grandchildren Logan, Lillian and Luke.
He is also survived by his brother Carl “Wig” Hunt, niece Carla Crisp (Derek), and nephew Richard Hunt.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
