Charlotte Gail Bock, 81
Funeral services for Charlotte Gail Bock, 81, of Ava, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava with Pastor Sherry Welch officiating. Visitation will be held at noon on Thursday before the service. Burial will be in the Lutie Cemetery in Theodosia.
She died Aug. 29 at Cox Hospital in Springfield following a brief battle with small cell lung cancer. She was born June 9, 1945, in Lutie, to Freddie Marion and Floy Ray (Futrell) Ridenour.
Charlotte lived a life centered around family, faith and the people she loved.
Charlotte began her career with Southwestern Bell in 1967, where she worked for more than 30 years before retiring in 1998. While working in St. Louis at Southwestern Bell, Charlotte met Mike Bock, and they later married in the St. Louis area.
Following retirement, Charlotte and Mike moved to Missouri to care for Charlotte’s mother and to be closer to family.
Charlotte and Mike enjoyed spending time together and with their family. They loved taking trips to Eureka Springs and St. Louis, attending shows in Branson and browsing flea markets and shops. Most of all, they treasured time spent with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was blessed with a loving family.
Charlotte and Mike attended the Seymour Life Church. Their faith, family, and time spent together were important parts of their lives.
Charlotte will be remembered for the life she shared with Mike, the family she loved so dearly, and the many memories created over the years. Her family will carry those memories with them and cherish the time they were blessed to have with her.
She is survived by her husband and partner of 34 years, Mike Bock, and her sons, Myron and Dwight Bruffett.
Myron and his wife, Mary Bruffett, have four children: Ellen Johnson and her husband, Myers, and their children, Ethan, Emmit, and Ezrah, of Branson; Matthew Bruffett of Branson; Annie Stallings and her husband, Nathan, and their children, Magnolia and Steele, of Nixa; and Addyson Bruffett and her daughter, Birdee Bruffett, of Branson.
Dwight Bruffett is the father of two sons: Jesse Bruffett of Springfield, and Jake Bruffett and his wife, Mercedes, and their daughter, Valorie, of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Floy Ridenhour, and her brother, Jimmy Howard, who died in infancy.
