Christy Williamson, 58

A celebration of life for Christy Williamson, 58, of Theodosia, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at the VFW in Isabella.
She died in her sleep after a long battle with health issues on Oct. 28.
Christy was born Oct, 7, 1965 in Glenn Falls, New York. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1966, where she later met her first husband and started a family with their four children and his two children from a previous marriage. After about 10 years, they divorced and continued to raise the children on her own. She worked in nursing homes for a number of years, eventually earning her CNA certification.
After a few years on her own, she met Kevin Williamson and married him Dec 2, 1993 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was a dedicated mother, raising six children from her first marriage, as well as four grandchildren later in life.
They moved to Theodosia after Kevin left the US Army in 2013, and he entered the Army National Guard. She stood by Kevin for almost 30 years including his 22 years of military service. She held the home together while Kevin went on multiple deployments overseas and many training exercises lasting anywhere from two weeks to a month.
She worked at Cookies’ Restaurant for a few years before she had a stroke that affected her right side requiring her to use a cane. She was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary at the Isabella VFW.
Christy is survived by her husband Kevin Williamson of Theodosia; brothers Clyde Steves, Clifford “Buster” Steves Jr. and Calvin Steves, all of Norman, Oklahoma and Clinton Steves and wife Angie of Victoria, Texas; sister Eddith Miller of Branson; daughters Tina Bushee of Grove, Oklahoma, Crystal Boulay of West Plains and Ashley Peak and husband Nathan of Ada, Oklahoma; son Samuel “Buck” J. Baldwin Jr. and wife Misty Norman, Oklahoma; stepson Samuel T. Baldwin of Norman, Oklahoma; stepdaughter Mary Baldwin of Norman, Oklahoma; grandchildren Hugh Waters, now of Kingsland, Georgia, and Tyler Conkey, Isaiah and Heaven Yeldon of Theodosia. She is also survived by many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
Christy was preceded in death by her parents Clifford Sr. and Lucy Steves, step-father Edward Burt, two sisters and three brothers and her first daughter, Dorothy.
Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
