Don Eugene Wallace, 76

Funeral services for Don Eugene Wallace, 76, of Ozark, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time. Don will be laid to rest next to his wife in Rhodes Cemetery. He died Oct. 23.
Born and raised at Hammond in Ozark County. Don lived a life marked by hard work, loyalty and a steady, quiet kind of love for the people around him.
Don was an Army veteran and later spent many years working at GE. Outside of work, he was happiest outdoors — riding horses, tending to his farm and livestock, hunting and fishing — and he carried himself with the calm confidence of someone who understood the land and the rhythm of rural life. He was both a father and a brother in the truest sense of those words: dependable, steady, and always there when needed. He leaves behind a legacy of family, good stories and countless quiet moments on the farm and in the woods and fields he loved.
He is survived by his daughters: Bridget and Ashley Wallace; his grandchildren: Jaden, Ashya and Jackson; his brother Dr. Charles L. Wallace, DVM; Brenda Waters; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Wanda Eugenia Wallace; and his parents, Louie Wallace and Eula Martin Wallace.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
