Ethel Bohannon, 98

 

A celebration of life for Ethel Bohannon, 98, of Clever, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Roller Funeral Home in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She died April 24, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on April 12, 1928, in Udall, to Earnest and Nova Poe. Ethel lived a long and meaningful life rooted in family, faith, and service to her community. On July 27, 1976, she married the love of her life, Troy Bohannon.

Ethel had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy hunting and fishing. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ and was actively involved in many aspects of her community. She gave her time generously to the local fire department and it’s auxiliary, supported the library and volunteered with Red Cross blood drives. Her life was a reflection of kindness, service and dedication to others. Ethel will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, resilience, and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Troy, of the family home; daughter Anita Shikany and husband Jim; son, David Hollingsworth and wife Mary; stepson, Stacey Bohannon; in-laws: Deborah Bohannon, Francis Delly, Kenneth Bohannon and wife, Marguarett, and Ray Bohannon and wife, Anita; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Earnest and Nova Poe; her sister Olene Preitea; and her brother, Walter Poe.
