Harold Clayton, 78

Harold Clayton, 78, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Nov. 5, 2025, at Mercy One Hospital in Waterloo.

He was born Oct. 3, 1947, in Missouri, the son of Roland and Aline (Mahan) Clayton. He graduated from Gainesville High School in 1966. In 1990, he married Margene Brase in Illinois. They lived in Waterloo, Iowa, and he worked in various factories. He was a devoted spouse. He enjoyed watching TV, visiting with neighbors, visiting NBA games and casinos.

He is survived by his wife, Margene, two nephews and one niece, all of Waterloo. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Howard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hicks Cemetery, where his ashes will be buried at a later date. Checks can be mailed to PO Box 54, Theodosia, Mo. 65761. No services are planned at this time.
