James D. Jordan, 86
A celebration of life for James D. Jordan, 86, of Gainesville, will be held at noon, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Jordan home, located at 103 Jordan Hollow in Gainesville.
He died April 5. James was born to David Jordan and Dorthy (Davis) Jordan on May 31, 1937. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. He then served on the Kansas City Police Department from 1960 to 1989.
In 1989, James retired to Ozark County where he lived his best life in the woods, hunting and wandering. He enjoyed fishing from his boat and camping at the lake with family and friends. His garden was epic.
James loved to sing, especially gospel songs. He enjoyed reading, cooking, spending time with loved ones and friends and dancing at Hootin an Hollarin with his wife.
He is survived by his wife Debbie of 38 years of the family home; five children: David Jordan and wife Carey of Hardenville, Robert Jordan and partner Sandy Robinson of Grubb, Arkansas, David Clardy of Gainesville, Kat Daugherty and husband Jared of Joelton, Tennessee, and Jessi Watkins and husband Lance of Dora; 13 grandchildren; and 11.5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter Marcia Blevins.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
