Kurtis Lloyd McGee, 54
Kurtis Lloyd McGee, 54, of Wasola, died at home Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024. No funeral services are planned at this time.
He was born Aug. 5, 1970, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and spent most of his childhood in Sycamore, Illinois. Kurt was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Beth, on May 19, 2001, and purchased their first home in Batavia, Illinois.
Fulfilling a life-long dream, they re-settled in Wasola, where they enjoyed the peacefulness of the country. He really adored his fur babies, Louise, Max and Demi. He also enjoyed tinkering with cars and trucks, maintaining a rather large, well-manicured acreage (mostly because his wife was afraid of snakes) and working on projects around the house. He enjoyed music of all kinds, poker nights with the family and his saltwater fish tank, once filled with fish and coral as he had a knack for the chemistry behind it. Kurt worked hard all of his life and had experience in several fields: printing ink color-matching, State of Missouri DS1 certification and maintenance.
Kurt is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Beth; mother and father, Roberta and Larry Lundberg of Sycamore, Illinois; mother-in-law MomJean; brother Lee (Jen) McGee; two sisters-in-law, Patti Batchelder and Tracy (Bryan) Ruff; nephews and niece, Matthew (Aurora) Incaudo, Ryan (Jennifer) Incaudo, Dan (Bobbie) Cruz, Ryan McGee and Sara McGee; great-nephew Gino Incaudo; and great-nieces Gabriella and AnnaSophia.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, brother-in-law and friend Lonnie Batchelder and his beloved puppies Nikita and Thelma.
Those so inclined can make donations in his memory to the Humane Society of Arkansas or PEITZ Cancer Support House in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
