Larry Joe Smith, 76

Graveside funeral services for Larry Joe Smith, 76, of Ava, were held Dec. 17, 2024, in the Souder Cemetery. Officiating was Pastor Oren Alcorn.

He died Dec. 12, at Shady Oaks Health Care in Thayer.

On Sept. 6, 1948, Joe was born to Ira and Lorena (Wright) Smith, in Souder. He was one of seven children.

Joe was a Christian and member of the Souder Church of Christ. He also attended Pine Ridge Church of Christ.

He enjoyed farming and loved visiting with family and friends. Joe didn’t know a stranger.

Joe is survived by his siblings: Genola Caudill, Bob and Barbara Smith, Kenny and Joyce Smith, and Garry Smith; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don Smith; and sister, Joyce Smith.
