Lesalie Ruth Mergendahl, 72

Funeral services for Lesalie Ruth Mergendahl, 72, of Wasola, were held Sept. 30, 2022, in the Clinkingbeard Chapel in Ava with burial following in the Girdner Cemetery. Pastor Robert Roberts and Pastor Maxine Lund will officiate.

Lesalie died Sept. 27, at Gainesville Health Care Center with her family by her side. She was born Nov. 19, 1949, in Saugerties, New York, to Harry and Alice (Brooks) Overbough.

Lesalie worked for a binder/book manufacturing company out of Saugerties, New York.

On Nov. 20, 2006 Lesalie and “Jack” Mergendahl were married at Saugerties, New York by the city mayor.

Lesalie enjoyed fishing and raising flowers.

She loved attending church and going to the creek. Lesalie also enjoyed listening to Daniel O’Donnell Irish, Christian and gospel music.

She was a Christian and was saved and baptized in 2012.

Lesalie was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Harry, Raymond and George Overbough, Joan Green, Ilene Worthman and Deantha.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; children: Jackie Sue Autry, Wanda Jean Mergendahl, Bonnie Lynn Kuhn and John R. Mergendahl, Jr.; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers; Richard Overbough and William Overbough; two sisters: Martha Carrier and Carol Ballinger; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
