Letty Moss, 87
Funeral services for Letty (L.J.) Moss, 87, of LaCenter, Kentucky, formerly of Ozark County, were held at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, Kentucky, on March 15, 2024, with Rev. Jason Hay officiating. Interment followed at LaCenter Memorial Gardens.
She died at 5 p.m. March 13, at her home with family.
She was born near Gainesville on March 1, 1937, the youngest daughter of Robert “Ace” Shaw and Alta Merle Shaw Johnson.
She was a member of the Gainesville High School class of 1954, and she enjoyed keeping in touch with her classmates and attending her school reunions in Branson. She was also a telephone switchboard operator and worked in the Ozark County Assessor’s office. She was an avid golfer and member of the Ballard County Ladies Golf Association where she carded not one but two holes in one in the summer of 1999.
She loved serving her Lord and Savior with her First Baptist Church family in several areas of ministries including the Sun Beams, adult choir, kitchen and flower committees, and her passion of bereavement meals for grieving families. She was a decades' member of the Ruth Sunday school class and refused to be promoted when suggested. She was a prayer warrior for all and studied the Word daily by sharing her love for the Lord.
Her family was of great joy to her, and she covered them in prayer daily.
She is survived by her daughter, Shelly Stigall and spouse Roger of Cunningham, Kentucky; her son, Hal Moss and spouse Dana of Lexington, Kentucky; her grandchildren: Lyndsay (Zach), Ryan (Kelsey) and Kala (Myron); her great-grandchildren: Justice, Jaiden, Karmen, Hadley and Makenzie; and many nieces and nephews from the Shaw and Moss families.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Ronnie Moss; her parents; her siblings: Maxine, James, Glen, Bob and Ralph; her husband's siblings: Anderson, Mildred, WE Dump, Martha, Joan, Bob and Gwen, forming a generation reunited in glory.
