Linda Prock, 79
Funeral services for Linda Susan Ritter Prock, 79, of Wasola, were held Dec. 2, 2024, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Chapel in Ava, with burial following in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Wasola. Rev. Robert Roberts officiated.
She died Nov. 25. Linda was born in Douglas County, on June 7, 1945, to Edgar Alva Ritter and Edith Lorene (Kunze) Ritter, the third of seven children. Linda graduated from Ava High School. On March 19, 1966, she married Kenneth Garman Prock at Black Oak Flats Church, and with the marriage, added two children to her family.
Linda spent her whole life in Douglas County in the Ava and Wasola areas. She has been a member of the Oak Grove Church in Wasola for decades. She considered everyone there to be a part of her special church family.
She retired from Copeland in Ava after working there for many years in order to spend more time with her large family and tending flowers.
She had a large collection of green glass items, and her family was continuously adding to the collection for her.
Linda is survived by husband Kenneth of the home; two sons: Kimberland and Laura Ritter of Seymour, and Dennis Prock of Republic; a stepson Randall and Vikki Prock of Eaglerock; a stepdaughter Andela Wilson of Springfield; two brothers: Charles (Gene) Ritter of Ava and J.C. Ritter of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren: Mason Ritter, Brayden Ritter, Naithan Ritter, Morgan Ritter, Sarah and John Donley, Rebecca Prock, Ethan and Lynzi Prock; 11 step-grandchildren: Daniel Goetz, Amanda Wilson, Bonnie and Jon Shikles, Silas Hoffer, Anthony and Kristen Carlisle, Jeff and Carly Creighton, Bo and Katie Prock, RaKayla Phillips, Brianne and Corey Ennes, Brady Prock, Nicole and Nick Moore, and Randi Prock; great-grandchildren: Diana Ritter, Liam Ritter, Henry Ritter, Veronica Ritter, Addie Donley, Chloe Watkins, Teanin Prock, Dustie Prock, Saphera Prock and Atreya Prock; step-great-grandchildren: Bristol, Emma, Ryan, Ethan, Wyatt, Savannah, Chloe, Lorraine, Olivia, Ella, Avery, Isaac, Claire, Jayden and Charlie; and numerous other close family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Ella Marie King and Stella Ann Upshaw; brothers: Edgar (Monroe) Ritter and Richardson (Hugh) Ritter; grandson, Ryan Goetz; and great-grandchildren: Jacobie Goetz and twins Madeline and Caedi Prock.
