Michael James High, 62

 

Funeral services for Michael “Mike” James High, 62, of Camdenton were held Feb. 27, 2023, at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton. Interment was at Loftis Cemetery in Willhoit.

Mike died Feb. 23 at University of Missouri Health Care in Columbia.

He was born May 7, 1960, in Kansas City, the son of Jimmie and Jessie Sievert High. Mike comes from a long line of Ozark Countians; he was the grandson of Elmer High and great-grandson of Lee High.

On Feb. 14, 2008, Mike was united in marriage to Olivia Mamurko in Camdenton. They shared 15 years together at the time of his passing.

Mike enjoyed hunting for big game all over the world and traveling. He was a pilot and a gunsmith. He loved his job as CEO at High Brothers Lumber, where he worked for 41 years. His legacy and dedication to the community while working there will continue on through the service of his sons Jim and Colten.

Mike is survived by his wife Olivia High of the home; sons Jim High and wife Carma of Columbia and Colten High and wife Faith of Camdenton; daughter Crystal Newman and husband Joseph of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren Cameryn, Kayla and Malcolm; mother Jessie High; and sisters Janie Hofman and husband Dave of Overland Park, Kansas, and Jana Hunter of Camdenton.

Mike was preceded in death by father Jimmie High.
