Norma Louise Jones, 92

A memorial service for Norma Louise Jones, 92, of Gainesville, was held March 21, 2025, at the Gainesville Church of Christ. She was interned at the Centerpoint Cemetery next to her husband of 63 years.
She died on March 18, in her own home with her family around her.
Norma was born to Willard B. Reynolds and Edith M. (Owens) Reynolds on March 8, 1933, in a little white house that sat at the corner of the current County Road 605 and 160 Highway. She lived the majority of her life on County Road 605.
She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Hervel Dean Jones, on Nov. 2, 1951. Norma worked several years at Boeing in Wichita, Kansas, then the Ozark County Times in Gainesville. She was active in the planning of the first Hootin an Hollarin, the design of the first float and rode on that float in the parade. In 1967, Dean and Norma moved to Mt. Vernon, where they owned and operated the Western Auto Store for many years. In 1992, she moved back to her beloved family farm in Ozark County, where she remained until her passing. She loved to do interior decorating, needlepoint, gardening and was famous for her cobblers.
She was ready to reunite with her loved ones.
She is survived by her children: Marti Jones and Marsha Jones; her sisters: Joella Jarman and Bobbie Immell; her grandchildren: Charlie Jones and wife Heather, Ben Hagan and wife Jenae and her only granddaughter, Rachel Hagan. She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Gabby, Mason, Bo, Jacob and Owen. She will be dearly missed by her entire family and numerous friends.
Preceding her in death was her parents, Willard and Edith Reynolds; her grandson, Jacob Hagan; her husband, Hervel Dean Jones; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Centerpoint Cemetery at Century Bank of Gainesville.
