Paul Glen Wharton, 62

Paul Glen Wharton, 62, of West Plains, died at his residence surrounded by his family on the evening of Oct. 24, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. A private service will be held at a later date.
Paul was born Oct. 7, 1961, in Newark, to Dallas and Janice Wharton. His parents moved several times throughout his childhood, but West Plains was home to him. On Nov. 5, 2001, he married the love of his life, Michelle.
Paul was a hardworking man. He worked for RKL Construction of West Plains for over 20 years all over northern Arkansas and south-central Missouri including work in Ozark County.
Paul loved going to the river with his family and camping. The outdoors was his favorite place to be. Anyone who knew Paul knew he was stubborn as a mule, but he was loved. His family meant more to him than anything in the world.
Paul is survived by his wife, Michelle, of 22 years; son Nathan Wharton and wife Nashwa, of Daytona Beach, Florida; son Brandon Wharton and wife Jessica, of West Plains; daughter Stephanie Ball and husband Robert, of West Plains; daughter Samantha Simmons and husband Dylan, of West Plains; son Jayden Wharton of the family home; two grandchildren, Ella and Carter Wharton, of West Plains; his sisters: Wilma Ashlock and her husband Clarence, of Skiatook, Oklahoma and Dana Thomas, and her husband, Larry, of West Plains.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Janice Wharton.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the family to help with Paul’s medical expenses.
