Richard May Gunter, 85

A graveside funeral service for Richard May Gunter, 85, of Ava, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, in the Souder Cemetery with burial to follow. Officiating will be E.J. Hampton. 

He died Aug. 13, at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava. 

He was born Feb. 15, 1937, in Ozark County, to Ellis and Nora Jane (Brickey) Gunter.

Richard enjoyed gardening. When he was younger, he like to work on the farm with his father, plowing fields, planting corn and milking cows.   

Richard is survived by two brothers, Bobby Gunter and Carl “Buck” Gunter and wife Charlotte; sister Christine Gunter and a host of other relatives and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; baby sister, Marie Gunter and brother, Onis Gunter.
