Roger Dwayne Huskey, 71

Funeral services for Roger Dwayne Huskey, 71, were held Oct. 20, 2025, at the Thornfield House of Prayer Church, with Pastor Stan Collins officiating. Burial was at the Thornfield House of Prayer Cemetery.

He died Oct. 15 at his home. He was born on Dec. 22, 1953, in Rolla, to Alfred and Opal Maxine (Ellifrits) Huskey.

He enjoyed making clocks, working with wood and teaching his nephews how to work with wood as a hobby. Roger was a Christian and attended Thornfield House of Prayer. 

Roger graduated from Alvin Community College, Alvin, Texas, with an Associate's degree in cooling and air conditioning. He worked as a small appliance repairman and owned and operated Roger’s Appliance in the communities of Douglas, Ozark, Webster and Wright counties. Roger worked hard at his craft. He helped many people.     

Roger and Judy were united in marriage on Aug. 15, 1994, in Corsicana, Texas.   

Roger is survived by his wife, Judy; brothers: Vince Huskey and wife Brenda, Allen Huskey, John Huskey, Michael Pokrandt and wife Anita and Mike Poisso and wife Sue; sisters-in-law: Jessie Willis, Deanie Huskey, Janie Swisher and Barbara Smith and husband Bob; brothers-in-law: Buddy Hayes and wife Sherry and Danny Belt and wife Cathy; many, many nieces and nephews; special friends: Bill Bower and David Rhoads; and his special companion, Charlie, his beagle.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Tom and Mary Hayes; brothers-in-law: B.Y. Huskey and Wesley Willis; and his sister-in-law, Sue Huskey.
