Ruby Turnbull, 81
Graveside services for Ruby Turnbull, 81, of Vanzant, were held June 17, 2025, at the Pleasant Mound Cemetery in Douglas County.
She died peacefully at her home on June 13, surrounded by her family. She was born April 22, 1944, in Siloam Springs, to the late Bert Collins and Dovie Margaret Collins.
She was married to Bud Turnbull on June 1, 1960, at West Plains. They had been married 31 years when she lost him. He was the love of her life. This year would have marked 65 years of marriage. To this union, five children were born.
She loved canning, growing flowers, working in her garden and chasing George, making sure he was behaving. The thing she loved most of all was being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved taking pictures of her family and always had a large collection. She attended the Richville Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved the Lord and her family dearly. She was the sweetest and kindest soul. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by sons: Bruce Turnbull (Amanda), Dennis Turnbull, Jimmy Turnbull (Sarah); daughter-in-law, Sheri Turnbull; grandchildren: Sarah Causey (Robbie), Sheri Thompson (Edward), Brandon Turnbull (Samantha), Jacob Turnbull, Alex Davault (Kim), John Turnbull (Ramon), Sam Turnbull (Taylor), Julie Olsen (Joe), McKayla Kendrick (Canyon), Clayton (Courtney) Turnbull, Ronnie Turnbull and Nicole Turnbull; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Emily, Shelby, Korina, Allison, Braxton, Evelyn, Lyla, Brantley, Emory, Mazlee, Jalee, Brice, Ruby, Teri, Edward, Naomi and Aurora; a host of nieces and nephews; and two brothers-in-law: Ralph Turnbull and Wayne Turnbull.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bud Turnbull; infant son, Ronnie Turnbull; youngest son, Melvin (Toby) Turnbull; her parents, Bert and Dovie Collins; her silblings: Guy Collins (Darlene) Otis Collins (Roberta), Sid Collins (Vivian), Wilbert Collins (Alene), James Collins, Marie Crisp (Hayes), Sybil Heavener, Maxine Madden (James); and a special nephew, Terry Collins.
