Sherry Brashear, 65

Sherry Kay Brashear, 65, died May 8, 2024. A celebration of life will be held at the Bakersfield pavilion at a later date. 

Sherry was born March 26, 1959, to Ben Brashear and Clara Willard, in Rockford, Illinois. She resided in Bakersfield most of her life. 

She was of Pentecostal faith. She was always a hard worker and was quick to help out a friend. She loved spending time with her grandkids and with her lifelong sister, Barbara Coffel. She always had time to take the dogs to the park for a run. 

She is survived by her mother Clara Willard-Koelling and her daughter Necole Hastings of the family home; her son Shane Brashear of West Plains; one brother, Glenn Brashear; three granddaughters: Tracy Cotter, Emalee Brashear and Marlee Brashear; one grandson John Cotter; and one great-grandson, Abram Cotter. 

She was proceeded in death by her father, Ben Brashear; two brothers, Llyod Brashear and Leslie Brashear; one son, Jack Hastings; and several aunts and uncles.
