William “Bill” Stratton, 86

 

William “Bill” Edward Stratton, 86, of Caulfield, died peacefully after a long battle with cancer on April 27, 2024, at his home in Caulfield.  

Bill, as he was affectionately known, was born on March 13, 1938, in Marion, Indiana. He was one of 11 children. 

Bill and his wife Rebecca (Pratt) were married for 62 years and enjoyed an amazing life together. They had three children: Janet, Bill Jr. and David. 

He owned and operated a bowling alley in Fowler, Indiana, for 10 years before moving to Caulfield. There he started and operated Riverside Canoe Rental for 17 years. 

He enjoyed spending his time outdoors fishing and cutting wood. 

Bill will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will live in the hearts of all those who knew him. 

Bill is survived by his wife Rebecca, of Caulfield; daughter Janet Stehlik and her husband Bob, of Aurora, Colorado; son Bill Jr. Green-Stratton and wife Davina of Caulfield; four grandchildren: Nicholas and Alexander Green-Stratton and Kaiden and Kayson Stratton, who are the children of late David Stratton and Stephanie Wilson of Mountain Grove; along with many nephews and nieces.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Donald, son David and three of his siblings.
