Yvonne Darlene Maher, 87

Yvonne Darlene Maher, 87, formerly of Gainesville, died Aug. 8, 2023. In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated. 

She was born March 20, 1936, in St. Louis, to Frederick and Esther Lampe.

Yvonne was an amazing, loving person with a vibrant happy soul. She always loved to make people laugh. She loved her church family, thrift stores and yard sales.

She moved to Gainesville in March of 1971, retired from Baxter Travenol Labs and moved closer to family later in life.

She is survived by her five children: Renee Lawson, Dawn Budz, Kimberly Defeo, Thomas “TR”  Maher Jr. and John Maher; 14 grandchildren: (Renee’s children) Elizabeth Baker and husband Andrew, Amy Owens and husband Matthew, Haley Hunt and husband Christopher, (Dawn’s children) Tori Sharon and husband Jacob, (Kimberly’s children) Robert Kuhn and wife Nicole, Sherena Blunt and husband Dominick, John Kuhn and significant other Jessica, (Thomas’s children) Joshua Maher and fiancé Julianna, David Maher and fiance Courtney, Brittany Gerland and husband Matthew, (John’s children) Amanda Oakley and husband Chris, Ashley Maher and significant other Arthur, Abbie Maher and significant other Anthony, Kaleb Maher and significant Emma; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister LaVern Brown and a young brother.
