I have been reading about the destruction of the river and lake accesses in Ozark County due to last year’s flooding, particularly at Tecumseh. Obviously, some trees need to be planted at Tecumseh Park to control erosion and eventually provide shade.
A tree that I do not remember seeing there is the cypress. I have planted some, and they grow fairly fast. They are extremely tough and can withstand drought and excess water. They like water, so being near the river or lake and being flooded will not necessarily kill them.
Perhaps the lowly cypress trees could be replanted along the shore and inside the park area.
