Quilting classes to begin Thursday

Quilting 102 classes will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursdays, May 5, 12, 26 and June 9 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church at 511 Coley Drive in Mountain Home, Ark.
If a person is proficient with rotary cutting and sewing accurate one-quarter inch seams, these classes will broaden skills to include accurate half-square and quarter-share triangles, grain-line considerations, sashing, on-point settings, mitered borders, the use of flat piping/flange to enhance a quilt top, and basic free-motion quilting. Diana Arikan and Carol Lewis, Hill ‘N Hollow Quilters Guild members, will conduct the classes.
Three different intermediate level classes will be held June 17 and 24, and July 15. Guild members conducting these classes are Sharon Crozier, paper foundation piecing, Judy Jensen, tessellations, and Patsy Grant, eight-pointed stars. A person may enroll in one or all of these intermediate classes.
