Rex Robertson, 77
Funeral services for Rex Robertson, 77, of Thornfield, were held June 8, 2019, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava with Dale Roberts officiating. Mr. Robertson died June 4 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born Aug. 29, 1941, in Rueter, the son of William Howard and Dorothy Jane Jenkins Robertson.
On May 28, 1961, in Thornfield, he married Judy Turner. They were blessed with four children.
He farmed dairy and beef cattle. He was a mail carrier and a schoolbus driver, and he worked at Spaulding for several years. He served as Ozark County Western District Commissioner for 20 years and was a member of the Thornfield School Board for several years; he was also one of the group of men who helped start and organize the Thornfield Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Robertson was a Christian and was saved and baptised by Brother Dale Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; four children and their spouses, Kevin and Sherri Robertson, Sherry and Mike Garrison, Kelly and Mark Evans, and Melanie Oxner; 10 grandchildren, Kara, Kris, Whitney, Blake, Lindsie, Sarah, Sam, Hannah, Rebekah, and Luke; four great-grandchildren, Jack, Easton, Reed and Avery; three sisters, Sharon Lyons, Marilyn Wallace and husband Jimmy, and Jan Robertson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Joan Marrs; one son-in-law, Vincent Oxner; one brother-in-law, Pat Lyons; and one great-grandson, Bryce Evans.
