Ozark County volleyball teams prepare for next week’s season openers
Members of the Gainesville, Bakersfield and Dora volleyball teams have been hard at work practicing for the first games of the season that start next week.
Gainesville
Gainesville, coached by Heidi Gaulding, opens their season with the Mansfield Jamboree set to begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26. The Lady Bulldogs host the Mansfield Lady Lions at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 and will travel to Koshkonong for the 2nd Annual Lady Jays Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 30.
Members of the Gainesville Lady Bulldogs team are Adalyn Alms, Addison Garrison, Allison Garrison, Lillian Hejdak, Baylor Hewett, Rylee Kowerduck, Kylie Leatherwood, Twyla Parkison, Regan Blackburn, Avery Gaulding, Lola Wade, Macy Hambelton and Claire Turner.
Bakersfield
Bakersfield, coached by Brandi Montgomery, will take on the Dora Lady Falcons at Dora at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28. The next day, team travels to Couch to play the Lady Indians. Those matches also begin at 5:30.
Members of the team are Keely Stevens, Lily Williams; Riley Summers, Abbigail Guffey, Amberlyn Murray, Aubrey Luna, Laynie Nelson, Alexis Clarkson, Addison Mayberry, Eden Cotter, Kacie Ketterman, Shaniah Foster, Kelsey Cotter, Shiloh Bean, Ellie Wells, Marlee Maynard, Mia Swenson and Jenna Winrod.
Dora
Dora, coached by Suzanne Montague, is hosting the Bakersfield Lady Lions at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 and will travel to Koshkonong for the 2nd Annual Lady Jays Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 30.
Members of the team are Loghan Bruce, Brailyn Hambelton, Olivia Martin, Montgomery Mitchell, Haley Perkins, Rayne Robinson, Makihya Smith, Ellie Ullom and Brynlee Walker.
Lutie
The Lutie Indians volleyball team members are excited about the upcoming season and their brand new on-floor volleyball equipment. The team is coached by Roxselll Pellham, who is assisted by Buck Comstock. The Lady Lions will open their season by traveling to Koshkonong for the 2nd Annual Lady Jays Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 30. Members of the team are Chloe Sams, Chloe Loftin, Ivy Smith, Emiah Collins, Sophia Demarco, Lucretia Ames and Alana Goodsell.
