Schools fix minor problems on buses
All four Ozark County high schools have repaired minor issues with their buses that were cited in a recent Missouri State Highway Patrol inspection report. The Patrol inspects school buses annually and issues a report of their findings.
Gainesville school district repaired issues with two of their buses that caused the buses to temporarily be taken out of service. School officials said both buses were repaired the same day the inspections were made.
Lutie made minor repairs to five of its six buses. None of Lutie's buses were ever taken out of service. Superintendent Scott Young said a small crack in a windshield was cited and the windshield has been replaced. Among the other issues was a leaking power steering pump seal. Young said the container was full of fluid, but a minor leak was detected. It has since been replaced. He said the other infractions have since been corrected on all buses — all of which he called "minor."
Bakersfield's four buses which were cited have all been repaired, including infractions such as not enough padding on a seat, a small crack in a windshield and a rivet missing. None of Bakersfield's buses were ever taken out of service.
Dora mechanics fixed a small fuel leak in one of their buses. It was never taken out of service, superintendent Sherry Anstine said.
