Sesena-Murrieta sentencing postponed
The sentencing hearing for Jesus Sesena-Murrieta originally scheduled for today has been postponed until 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 22, in Lebanon. On April 26, Ozark County Circuit Judge John Moody found Sesena-Murrieta guilty of second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the July 20, 2008, shooting death of 22-year-old Alonzo Foster Jr., of Ash Flat, Ark., at an Ozark County swimming hole.
The trial was moved to Laclede County on a change of venue. The postponement is due to the judge's scheduling conflict, according to Ozark County Prosecuting Attorney Tom Cline, who said he will present additional evidence during the sentencing hearing. He has subpoenaed several witnesses to testify about Sesena-Murrieta's experience prior to the murder, he said.
