Storm knocks out power

A weekend storm brought some much-needed rain to Ozark County, but it was accompanied by high winds, hail and lightning that wasn't as welcome.

A large thunderstorm packed a punch Saturday over parts of Ozark County, with the Romance, Almartha, Wilhoit and Foil areas receiving the brunt of the damage.

There were trees and limbs downed all over the county, but the north-central portion of Ozark County had the most damage, with trees being uprooted on power lines, homes, cars and even on the Romance Church.

According to western district county commissioner Greg Donley, 4-5 inches of rain fell in the Romance area and some structures were damaged by the storm.
