Tecumseh teenager will star as Snow White in West Plains play

“Magic Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?”
Starting this weekend the answer to that question is 15-year-old Emmy Mitchell from Tecumseh when she co-stars as Snow White in the West Plains Playhouse’s 2nd Annual Fall Spectacular production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
The beloved fairytale will take the stage at two locations, The Grand Ballroom in West Plains, Sept. 12–28, and the West Plains Civic Center, Oct. 2–5.
The production promises colorful costumes, lively performances and plenty of laughs as the classic tale comes to life.
Emmy, who has loved performing since she was little, says she’s excited for the opportunity and hopes her friends, family and neighbors from Ozark County will come cheer her on and enjoy the play.
This will be her fourth performance after joining the Playhouse in 2024. Her first performance was as John Darling in Peter Pan, quickly followed by performances in A Christmas Carol and the musical Cinderella.
Emmy said she enjoys acting but singing is her true passion and she hopes to be involved in more musicals in the future.
“Emmy would like to give a thanks to all of the Ozark County residents and businesses that sponsor the plays that she participates in,” said her grandmother Denise Stubbs.
In addition to her love of acting, Emmy is homeschooled, enjoys riding horses and raising goats. She has lived on the Tecumseh farm since 2017. She plans to attend college and become a veterinarian.
Emmy shares the role with Grace Loukota of West Plains. Grace and her family moved to West Plains from Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. Grace's very first play for the West Plains Playhouse was Alice in Wonderland. Since that time, she has stared in A Christmas Carol and Pride and Prejudice.
Grace and her mother Megan own The Costum Closet and provide the majority of the costumes used by the West Plains Playhouse and the family has designed and built the sets for Playhouse productions.

The Grand Ballroom – 37 Court Square, West Plains (Above Dev’s Steakhouse & Live Music Lounge) Emmy will perform Sept. 13, 16, 19, 21, 27. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $7 for children and veterans. Group discounts are available for parties of 6 or 8.
West Plains Civic Center – 110 St. Louis St, West Plains. Emmy’s performances will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 2 and 4. Ticket prices are $13 for adults and $11 for children and veterans.
