Trunk or Treat planned Oct. 31

This year's Trunk or Treat is set for 6 to 8 p.m Wednesday, Oct. 31, on the square in Gainesville. Treat-givers park on the square and decorate the trunks, beds or tailgates of their vehicles to pass out candy to the costumed children.

For safety reasons, no moving vehicles will be allowed on the square during Trunk or Treat hours after 6, and participants are asked not to pass out candy before 6 p.m. so everyone has time to set up.

The popular event is open to all families as an alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating.
