Bakersfield all-school reunion is June 30

Bakersfield's all-school reunion is slated for Saturday, June 30. Activities will be held at Pride Park in downtown Bakersfield and at the school gymnasium.

All-day activities in the park include food concessions (hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, snow cones and cold drinks), an ice cream social, kids' tractor pull, turtle and duck races, yard sales and games and booths of all kinds. Booth setup is free, organizers say. Just bring your own tables and chairs.

There will also be a baseball tournament at the ball field, live music in the late afternoon and fireworks at dark. Organizers say they would love for someone to get together a horseshoe or washer tournament.

The annual event is geared toward anyone who ever attended or taught at Bakersfield school, but everyone is welcome.

The Jerry Taylor Gymnasium at the school will be open from noon until 4 p.m. so participants have an air conditioned place for visiting. The school can also be toured during that time. For more information, call 870-467-5638.
