Bakersfield hosts Fall Scholar Bowl tournament
The Bakersfield varsity scholar bowl team took home first place in last weekend’s 2023 Fall Scholar Bowl tournament and several members of the team placed individually. The Gainesville academic team took home second place in the varsity category during the 2023 Fall Scholar Bowl tournament at Bakersfield. Makenzie Horton placed fourth and Cheyenne placed fifth individually.
The Bakersfield School academic team hosted the 2023 Fall Scholar Bowl Tournament at their home school Saturday, Nov. 11. BHS scholar bowl advisor Loreen Tefft relayed the following results from the tournament:
In the varsity division, the Bakersfield took home first place, and Gainesville took second place.
“We are extremely proud of our scholar bowl teams today. The varsity won all of their rounds including the championship match to take first place,” Tefft said after the event.
In the junior varsity division, Dora took first place followed by Koshkonong in second.

Varsity division: First place, Natalie Hadley of Bakersfield; second place, Ansley Miller of Koshkonong; third place, Brooks Amburgy of Bakersfield; fourth place, Makenzie Horton of Koshkonong; fifth place, Cheyenne Wachtel of Gainesville; sixth place, Scarlet Bouchard of Bakersfield.
